Newcastle qualified for the group stage of the next season's Champions League
after a goalless draw with Leicester City in the 37th round of the English
Premier League on Monday.


At St. James' Park, both teams failed to score, and the match ended in a
goalless draw, with each team earning one point.


Newcastle Qualifies for Champions League


The draw raised Newcastle's tally to 70 points from 37 matches in third place,
ensuring the team's qualification for the Champions League next season, while
Leicester City has 31 points from 37 matches in the eighteenth position before
the last.








Newcastle's last participation in the Champions League was in the 2002/2003
season, where they qualified for the round of 16.





Newcastle hosts Chelsea, Leicester hosts West Ham



In the final round, Newcastle will host Chelsea, while Leicester City (the
2015/2016 season champions) will host West Ham on Sunday, May 28th.




Champions League race tightens



Manchester City, Arsenal, and Newcastle have already secured their places in
the group stage of the Champions League next season, and the fourth spot is
between Manchester United and Liverpool, with United having two games left
compared to Liverpool's one, making it look like United is closer to securing
it.
