Determining the value of the rejected Saudi offer from Mourinho
Today, Saturday, press reports revealed the name of the Saudi club that negotiated with Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho before the start of the current season’s competitions.
Mourinho said today in a press conference before facing Frosinone in Round 7 of Serie A that he rejected a “fantastic” offer from the Saudi League.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano, who specializes in transfer affairs, commented by saying that the offer that Mourinho received was from the Saudi Al Hilal.
He explained: “Al Hilal made an offer to Mourinho with an annual salary of 30 million euros.” After negotiations with Mourinho failed, Al Hilal brought back its former coach, Portuguese Jorge Jesus, to lead the team. Al Hilal’s performance this season was not convincing to Al Azraq fans, and the recent results increased doubts about Jesus (69 years old). Al Hilal started the group stage in the AFC Champions League with a 1-1 draw in Riyadh with Uzbekistan's Navbakhor, then tied with the same score in the next match in the local league with Damak. In the round of 32 of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, it won hard-fought over Al-Jabalain (first division) 1-0. The team regained some of its balance by defeating Al-Shabab 2-0 yesterday
